Buk/Taiko

The Buk/Taiko drum has an powerful sound and is quite a challenging instrument.  The whole body is integrated into the “dance with the drum”. The meditational aspects and the strong expressions come together in the repetitiveness of the rhythm and motion.

Themes in the course include:

– Utilizing the essential core of your body
– Traditional Korean/Japanese style
– Playing in an ensemble and expansion to Sambuk
